About

Hi I’m Carl Gorka, the current Vice-President of the Melbourne Chess Club. I was born in England but have lived in Melbourne, Australia for nearly 5 years and I have some things to say about chess, coffee, and living as an expatriot.

It’s hard to believe the above paragraph was only written about 4 months ago. Since then, I’ve moved from VP of the MCC to Secretary of the MCC. You can usually find me at the MCC on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, and just so you know who you’re looking for….

    Dear Carl,

I am working on the games of the 1977-78 Australian Championship in Perth and would like to contact Bill Jordan and Eddy Levi to see if they still have copies of their games from that event. I don’t know what clubs they belong to in Melbourne and I don’t have email addresses for them. If you could help that would be great. Thanks for the Blog as it helps me to track down results and games.

    Best regards
